Using Chandlers representation model to anaylse our main task.

Reception = In the beginning scene we made sure that the camera focused on everything but the characters face, which helped us build up tension as did it give a hint of mystery to the piece as though my characters face was being hidden for a reason. As the character porgresses towards his motorbike , the tension is slowly un eased as his face is revealed properly. The motorbike and the speech patterns of my character istantly establish the dominance and gives the effect to the audience that im a dominant character, who is trying to prove his male dominance. The way in which my character seems to

Analysing "Empire" magazine front cover.

On the left is the famous film magazine " Empire", the film being advertised on the front is a new Drama/action called "Green Zone".

If the audience was already familiar with the film green zone then this unique colour scheme may attract the audiences eye, however if the audience wasn't so familiar then this cover would immediately connote the name of the film ( having green all over the cover) but would also portray the genre of action in the film. Having Matt Damon's face on the front also advertises this film as he is a well known sucessfull actor which may promt people to see the film as famous actors are often an attraction to the audience.

The Colours also make a diffrence as they differ from the usual red that the "Empire" title usually sits in. This would catch the audiences eye as it may show the film in a diffrent light, as though the diffrent flouresent colours say something about the film itself. The way Matt Damon has been positioned center with a weapon in his hand is conventional as this dare devil action man fits the part he plays in green zone, the way he is portrayed on the front with weapon in hand walking towards the camera portrays him as the character that the audience are familiar with which is also a huge attraction.

Analysing " The Killer inside me" poster (2010)

The poster above is advertising the film " The killer inside of me" directed by Micheal Winterbottom, the film tells the true story of how a disturbed police man in America uses his power to get away with several killings. It was released in cinemas on the 8th of June 2010. The poster above is effective in many ways and has be chosen to attract people to this sort of genre. The film title in big black bold lettering reminds me of the Kill Bill poster, which is a film involving alot of action and gore, similar to this film. The plain writing also helps to show how the film is set nearly ten years ago as there are no bright colours and the writing is rather old fashioned. The second object that stands out is the actor " Jessica Alba"s face which is the dominant image in this poster. On other film posters which i have began to anaylse i have found that the main character is often centered on the poster, with this poster its diffrent and that is all for a reason. One of the reasons is she is an important part in the film but not the dominant character, which needs to be made clear in the poster. Referring back to Kill Bill again where the poster has "Uma Thurman" centered as she is the main character and she is what the film has its main base around, however having Jessica Alba not centered shows how she is dominanted in this film and infact plays an as important part but just needs to be portrayed in that light.
